Harvest View Stables Day Camps
During the school year, we offer a number of one-day camps during school holidays. Campers have the
opportunity to spend the day at the barn or on field trips to various horse-related destinations.

Dates for the 2007 one-day camps.

Presidents' Day Camp - 2/18
Easter Monday Camp - 3/24 (tentative)
Thanksgiving Camp - 11/28
Jingle Bell Camp - 12/29

One-day camp hours are 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Campers should pack a lunch and come with a change of clothes in
case they don't want to wear their riding clothes for the entire day.
Cost is $80/day

Registration forms must be accompanied by a $50 non-refundable deposit. The balance will be due the first day
of camp. No session will be held unless we have a minimum of five students.

All one-day camps run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted, and will include a riding lesson, a lecture
and a hands-on activity. Students should pack a lunch and bring a change of clothes. If necessary, we may offer
an extra-hours program at an additional cost. Campers enrolled in this program may be dropped off at the farm
at 8 a.m. and be picked up at 5 p.m. Fee: $10/day.

All multi-day camps run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Extra-hours program will be available
for an additional cost, if needed.

Fun Show Camp- (limited to 10 campers) (suitable for beginner through advanced riders)
June 12-13  $175/student
This camp will focus on the ins and outs of horse showing. Students will learn horse show etiquette, proper
turnout, grooming and braiding techniques, and safe travel procedures. Campers will build and personalize a
jump to be added to the HVS jump collection and used at our fun shows. Additionally, campers will plan a HVS
fun show to be held the Saturday following camp. HVS horse show entry fee is included in camp tuition fee. (Off
site showing is not required.)

Cross-Country Riding Camp - (limited to six campers) (suitable for advanced riders)
June 25-27 $175/student
This camp will focus on cross-country riding, including trail etiquette, safety when riding in groups outside the
ring, traffic laws for riders, and will discuss fox-hunting and eventing. Riders will practice riding outside the ring,
and weather permitting, will go on an off-site trail ride on the last day of camp.
Riders must be able to halt from a
walk, trot and canter in the arena to be eligible to attend this camp.

Horse Care Camp - (limited to 10 campers) (suitable for beginner through advanced riders)
July 9-10 $135/student
This camp will focus on first aid, handling veterinary emergencies and on various horse management skills
including nutrition, pasture management and general safety. We will have lectures and demonstrations by
equine professionals, including an equine masseuse and a farrier. This camp will be a great opportunity to learn
about all the aspects of caring for a horse.
(Horse owner wannabes take note...this one's for you!)

Good Student Incentive
Program Underway
We like it when our students excel at riding, but we
also like it when they excel at their school work. To
encourage excellence in both areas, we're
instituting a new program here at Harvest View
Stables.
When you bring in a straight-A report card at at the
end of the year, you'll receive a free trail ride lesson.
So after your riding lesson, be sure to hit those
books and earn those good grades. When you're
enjoying your cross-country ride, you'll be glad you
studied so hard!
Earn free riding lessons
through our Student Referral
Program
We appreciate the nice things that you tell your
friends about Harvest View Stables. In order to
thank you, we have established a student incentive
program. If you refer a new student who becomes a
regular lesson student (takes at least six lessons
in three months), you will receive a free riding
lesson. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm.

A Fourth-of-July
Fundraiser for
Windchase!
HVS held a Games-On-Horseback
Fun Show
to benefit Phyllis Dawson's
Windchase--Melissa Hunsberger’s
barn--which burned to the ground on
June 10th. Despite a drizzly evening, we
raised more than $500 to help out.

Fortunately, no horses, people nor pets
were injured, but Windchase lost
everything else in the fire. We will give
them a Bit of Britain Gift Certificate, so
they’ll be able to restock some of their
necessities.

If you could not attend our evening of
Fun, but would like to contribute to the
fundraiser, please get in touch with
Cindy.

Click here to visit the Windchase
website and read Phyllis's account of
the fire.
