| YCDS Benefit Horse Show '07 |
It was another marathon YCDS Show, as we departed HVS at 5:30 a.m. and didn't return home till nearly 10 p.m. As always,
the highlight of the day was the time spent on the outside course. Billy and Lauren teamed up to do 2'6" Hunt Pairs and
snagged second place honors and an invitation to participate in the Master's Class. (Billy and Calvin won fifth in a field of
more than 20 horses and ponies.)
Lauren and Nautica won some excellent ribbons in their first time out together. Lauren shined in Walk-Trot Equitation and
brought home a second and third place ribbon. Nautica won fifth place in both Walk-Trot Pleasure Classes.
Cat Pony and Alexa won good ribbons in Jr. Equitation and brought home Reserve Championship honors in the Pleasure
Pony division.
Lauren and James did a bang-up job in both the Children's Field Hunter Division and the Children's Hunter Division. She
and James were Reserve Champion Children's Hunters, and they also brought home some nice equitation ribbons in the
very competitive A Bit More Tack Equitation Division.
Billy and Calvin blazed through the outside course to bring home blue, along with Reserve Championship honors in the
Children's Field Hunter Division. Billly's smile couldn't have been much bigger as he and his trusty steed galloped across
the wide-open jump course. Nothing but fun for those two happy guys!
Katie and Bug did a great job in their first outing together, which happened to be Bug's first show. After a shakey
start--sooooo many distractions--she and Bug did a brilliant job and won the Pleasure Horse Championship as well as
some nice Jr. Equitation ribbons.
Congratulations to all of our riders, and a special thanks to our HVS family members who went above and beyond the call
of duty to cheer for our great group of competitors. Thank you, also, to the show organizers who do such a wonderful job at
making the show one of our favorite events of the season.
